Front of building Bridge ProjectHow we work

We aim to meet with you regularly after you have moved in and check that you have settled in well. We aim to support you to meet your goals while staying with us. We have an open office if you need to come to us with any queries you have about anything to do with managing your tenancy such as welfare benefits, rent, move-on and maintenance. We may also attend reviews with your external support workers if necessary or refer you to other services if you need more support than we can offer.

Housing workers can offer you guidance on how to successfully manage your tenancy and can signpost you to other agencies and services to ensure that you are able to meet any other needs you may have.

Our Housing Plus service in Barnstaple offers support in a shared environment from our experienced housing plus support team, who will support you to:

  • Manage your finances, benefits and bills
  • Access a range of services and agencies
  • Link with employment, training, voluntary work or other meaningful occupation
  • Set up and look after your home
  • Maintain your tenancy and prevent the loss of your home
  • Find and move on to more independent accommodation
  • Keep yourself safe and secure
  • Maintain good neighbourly relations
  • Access social / cultural activities

The service at The Bridge Project aims to offer a safe and stable environment.

And most important of all... Live a full and active life in the local community.

“I would like to express my great appreciation for the work that the Bridge project does, it has made all the difference to my son (and thereby to all his family, especially myself).

Without the project’s support services I fear that he would be homeless, living on the streets and on a downward spiral.

Being in safe accommodation has changed his life so much for the better, whilst he still has some issues, he is much improved from when he first joined the project and I very much hope that improvement can continue”. — Resident's Mother
