At Westward, we want every resident to feel safe, secure, and supported in their home and community.
This page explains how we help protect you, and what you can do to stay safe in your everyday life.
What we do to help keep you safe
We work closely with residents, local authorities, and specialist agencies to:
- Safeguarding: protect vulnerable adults and children from harm, abuse or neglect.
- Domestic abuse support: offer confidential advice and connect residents to specialist services.
- Anti-social behaviour (ASB) management: respond to reports of harassment, intimidation or disruptive behaviour.
- Hate crime and discrimination: take reports seriously and work with authorities to protect residents from abuse targeted at race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Drug-related concerns: address illegal drug use or dealing that threatens safety.
- Helpline and alarm systems: information about personal alarms, telecare and emergency helplines for urgent support.
- Financial safety: help residents protect their money, avoid scams and manage finances safely.
If we become aware of risks, we act quickly and treat all reports confidentially.
