We understand it can be challenging to keep your home at the right temperature and humidity, especially when trying to avoid damp and mould. That is why we are introducing an innovative solution that will help you stay comfortable.
A small device, known as the surveyor cube, will be installed on the wall near the fuse box, along with four mini dot sensors strategically placed in different rooms. These sensors will quietly monitor the temperature and humidity levels in your home and do not record sound, video or movement.
The mini dots are battery operated with no running cots. The surveyor wired surveyor cube will not be expensive to run.

- What is being installed in my home?
It a smart device called a surveyor cube. They consist of a hub box and sensors, which collects temperature and humidity data.
- Why is this important?
Surveyor cubes are designed to help with maintaining a healthy environment for you to live in. If the environment is off balance, steps can be taken to help you improve your living environment.
- Does it benefit me?
Yes. We will have a better understanding of how your home is performing and can give advice or make some improvements to help keep it healthy.
- How can I help with maintaining a healthy environment in my home?
Use your extractor fans in order to improve air quality and also ensure that you regularly ventilate all rooms in your property, not only in the summer but also in the winter.
- What is the running cost of a surveyor cube?
The hub box costs less than one tenth of the running cost of a modern under-the-counter fridge (the most energy-efficient fridge available on the market) and the room sensors operate with batteries and therefore cost nothing to run.
- Will it interfere any other electrical equipment in the home?
No.
- Does it use my Wi-Fi?
No, all devices are run using GSM cellular technology providing a secure data stream which does not use Wi-Fi.
- What data can it extract about me?
Nothing. It will only understand the temperature and relative humidity in the rooms where sensors are installed.
- Does it monitor my movements?
No, there are no motion sensors on any of the devices.
- Can it see what I am doing?
No, there are no cameras on any of the devices.
- Is it listening to me?
No, there are no microphones or sound recording equipment on any of the devices.
- Do I need to do anything with it?
No, once the surveyor cube is installed you do not need to conduct any maintenance. Please leave the devices alone and they will automatically collect information.
- Will Westward know if I tamper with it?
Yes, there are integrated tamper switches. If a device is opened up, turned off, or tampered with, notifications are sent to us.
- Will Westward know if I turn it off?
This will cause the data stream to stop and we will receive notification of this.
- Why shouldn’t I turn it off?
We have invested in this technology in order to benefit you, our customers, to help ensure that your environmental living conditions are as healthy as possible.
