Creating greener futures

Home improvement programme

To help improve the energy efficiency of Westward homes and support the national goal to reduce carbon emissions, we are rolling out a large‑scale green home improvement programme.

This programme aims to make homes warmer, more comfortable and more affordable to heat, while contributing to wider environmental commitments.

If you have landed on this webpage after receiving a letter from us, your home has been identified as one that may be eligible for upgrades and we are hopeful to secure government funding to help support this work.

What happens next?

The first step is a full property assessment which will help us understand which energy‑saving measures are most suitable for your home e.g. solar panels. During this visit, the surveyor will look at key areas including:

  • Your heating system
  • Levels of insulation in your home
  • Windows, doors and any areas of draughts or cold spots
  • Air circulation (extraction fans/space under internal doors)
  • Suitability for renewable technologies such as solar panels.

This assessment ensures that any recommended improvements are tailored to your home’s needs. More details of this assessment will be found on the letter you have received.

Learn more about the improvements

To help you understand what each upgrade involves, we’ve created a series of webpages explaining the main measures in our programme. These pages will guide you through what each improvement does, how it is installed and the benefits you can expect.
