Stephen has worked in housing for more than 30 years. He has been chief executive at Westward Housing Group since October 2024. Prior to joining Westward, Stephen is an experienced board and executive member and has worked in the housing sector for more than 30 years. His experience has been built with a range of housing associations and a local authority, where he has held roles in housing management, strategy and policy, development, asset management, planned investment and response repairs.
He is passionate about delivering a great service that respects and recognises diversity of need, and of belief. Stemming from the very start of his career, working in direct access hostels for the homeless, Stephen appreciates how having access to a safe and secure home and an appropriate support network, be that friends, family, or professionals, can be the catalyst for so many other life chances. Outside of work Stephen volunteers with the Samaritans.
