What we are up to and what's next | Scrutiny group update

When we last updated you way back in August the sun was shining, we’d had a bit of a break and we were mid-way through our Financial Living Crisis report. We’re not sure anyone could have predicted the changes that were about to happen to the country in the following few weeks.
The Financial Living Crisis Report that we presented in October says:
“During the review, the costs of everyday items continued to increase alongside the huge rises in the charges to gas and electricity supplies. This has led to the phrase ‘heating or eating’ being used by Westward customers.”
The group felt that Westward is being very proactive in its desire to help people. But it is more important than ever that customers are aware of the support that Westward can offer.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Our next review concerns our voids (empty homes) process. We’ll get to meet surveyors and visit properties that have just been handed back to us and get to see those same properties once they are ready for the next customer.
We’ll be talking to people who have recently moved in to one of our properties. This will help us to understand how we can help Westward to reduce and minimise the length of time that properties are empty.
What could possibly go wrong visiting an empty house during Halloween!
