New way to record ASB
Westward will be the first housing association to bring the ASB reporting system into the housing sector, Kulpa has previously focused on working with key agencies such as the police.
Anti-social behaviour is tricky to manage, which shows in customers' 61% satisfaction rating for our management of ASB. We need a lot of hard evidence which can be challenging for customers to gather, we also rely on the police, environmental health, local authorities and the courts, which are all dealing with large caseloads that cause delays.
One of the new things we can offer is 'Kulpa' to improve reporting and evidence gathering through this easy-to-use app. You can download it from App Store and Google Play for free and then use it to easily upload evidence of what is happening.
This reports into Westward and makes it far easier to share that information centrally with partners such as the police and log it all into incidents that build cases. It sits within our overall approach to wider management of ASB.
Our shared ambition is for Kulpa to provide customers with a ‘one-stop shop’ for reporting and evidencing ASB, with information that can be shared with relevant organisations such as the police and local authorities where appropriate.
We will initially be running a 12-month trial, with the aim of demonstrating the benefits for our customers and exploring how this technology could support the wider social housing sector.
Steve Darling, MP for Torbay, is also hopeful it can help and joined us to help launch this at our Kenneth Court scheme in Torquay.
