Board and executive team
Our governance structure includes a board of non-executive and executive board members. The board provides leadership, direction, support and challenge. Our executive team is responsible for delivering services.
We also have an Audit and Assurance Committee which operates on these terms of reference and a Remuneration and Membership Committee which operates on these terms of reference.
Customers sit on our scrutiny group to review our services in line with our commitment to co-regulation.

Robert Stronge, Chair
Robert has worked in housing for over 40 years and brings this experience to Westward. He has operated at senior levels with major housing associations in both England and Scotland. Robert was formerly managing director of a division of The Guinness Partnership that provided housing across the west of England including Cornwall and Devon. He has also worked as interim chief executive at Shire Housing Association in East Ayrshire, Scotland.
In his non-executive roles he spent time with Robert Owen Communities in Totnes, a subsidiary of the United Response charity supporting people with learning difficulties and mental health needs. More recently Robert completed nearly 9 years as chair of North Devon Homes Group, a community-based landlord in Barnstaple and since 2020 he has been a member of the Cornwall Housing Ltd Board.
Robert has also spent time working with Westward in the past when he provided interim management support to Westward Property Services.
Throughout his career Robert has championed the importance of good customer service, listening to and meeting the needs of the community.
