Sustainability retrofits for our homes

Westward is working on an energy efficiency improvement project with our retrofit contracting partner, LCX, at various sites in Torridge including Holsworthy, Hartland and Ashwater.

We are consulting families at each of the 51 properties set to benefit in order to get customer agreement on each of the proposed energy improvement measures. Customers have had letters, remoted and then on-site home surveys to discuss the measures on a one-to-one basis and will be invited to a local event to learn more.

There will be a unique set of measures for each property. This work is funded via the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.1 funding. We will work closely with the customers and seek to minimise disruption.

We are also, reviewing our energy performance data ahead of potential bids for funding under a wave 3 of the SHDF.

In addition, we are looking at the ECO 4 scheme (Energy Company Obligation) and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) where we plan to work with our partner, Carbon Rewind, to implement targeted improvements to our homes in order to improve their EPC ratings.
