New homes for Christmas - rural living for delighted new tenants and shared owner

Four new homes have been provided at Filleigh, a small community between South Molton and Barnstaple, just in time for Christmas.
One happy new resident said, "It feels amazing to have a new home for Christmas. I feel really lucky, I've worked in Filleigh for over 5 years and to live close by will make such a difference to me."
Whilst Westward provides many homes in the Torridge area, this is the first scheme in North Devon. It provides vital affordable housing and there is a local connection requirement. The homes have a high EPC rating of B which supports Westward’s environmental aims, they are heated by air source heat pumps.
Three 2-bed and 3-bed semi-detached homes for social rent have been provided by Westward on the former land of Home Farm at Filleigh in North Devon. In addition a 2-bedroom semi-detached house is available now for shared ownership.
The new homes are conveniently close to the primary school, parish hall and bus stop. This development is 4 miles from South Molton and 8 miles from Bideford. The homes were sold by Mazzard Steeple and are part of Westward’s target to provide 700 new homes by 2025.
Affordable rental housing need in north Devon, with a local connection, is substantial at 635 people waiting for a 2-bed and 327 for a 3-bed home.
The shared ownership property is still available and details are on the Westward and Help to Buy websites.
