Festive lights fundraiser

Nathan Grant has become well known for his annual Christmas lights display in Paignton, however, this year’s spectacle is “bigger and better” as donations in appreciation will be supporting a charity dear to his heart.
Nathan explains: "I have been decorating my mother’s house in Colley End Road for 14 years now, but this year I decided to expand the winter wonderland theme and, at the same, raise funds for the National Autism Society.
“I wanted to give back to the community and help show support to the autism spectrum. These times have been difficult for us all, but we can all come together and support the most vulnerable this winter.”
Nathan, who suffers from autism, is currently studying social media at South Devon College and has featured his display on his YouTube channel. He said: “The lights are a passion of mine and it ties in well with my studies at college.”
Both Nathan and his mother, Sarah Dibley are residents of Westward and were thrilled to be featured in the ITV Westcountry News coverage of the Torbay Christmas Trail highlighting festive lights in the area.
Sarah said: “We were delighted to launch the trail and I am extremely proud of Nathan and all his hard work.”
The blue and white Artic theme took Nathan six weeks to create and will be on display until 2nd January. More than £200 has been raised for Nathan’s charity so far and donations can be made through Nathan’s JustGiving page at Nandi Displays, Winter Wonderland Christmas Display.
The winter wonderland display can be viewed on YouTube at Nandi Entertainment Winter Wonderland.
