Westward achieves ‘Mastering’ for its Data Maturity Accreditation
Westward is proud to now be accredited at ‘Mastering’ level for how we value, gather, hold, cleanse and store your personal data.
We consider your data to be of the highest level of importance. We appreciate that you trust us with it and know how much it matters; we are all customers too.
The accreditation matters because it means we take your information seriously, we value your trust in us and we do everything in our power to only collect what we need to, make sure it is current, store it safely and only for as long as it is needed.
Consultants 3C assessed Westward based on five key areas:
Leadership considers the engagement with data from senior, strategic, and business leadership.
Data considers the technical aspects of data management, including data assets, data collection, data quality and interoperability.
Skills reviews the level of data and analytical literacy across the organisation, together with the provision of development opportunities.
Tools looks at the systems and tools used for collecting, storing, sharing and using data
3C consultants said; “The organisation is an exemplar of data management, governance and use. It is consistently proactive and has broad and deep capability.”
All this does not mean that we won't experience mistakes with data but when we do find anything we would fix it as quickly as possible and put a process in place to protect that data from future human error and mistakes – we see it and we sort it!
We continue to require our colleagues who hold your data to ask themselves how diligent we have been in asking themselves why we need to know, what we will do with the data and how safely we will store the data. We won’t rest on our laurels as we know this is a challenging and continuing journey.
