Although the Westward Scrutiny Group has only been around for one year we have achieved so much - but there is so much more to do.
So far, we have completed:
- Review of grounds maintenance
- Review of repairs communication with customers
- Given recommendations on Compensation Policy
- Started a review on the impact the cost-of-living crisis is having on Westward customers.
We have received training from TPAS on completing scrutiny reviews and why it is important that customer’s views are heard. We have made friends with the Scrutiny Panel at Greatwell Homes. We’ve even set up a WhatsApp group with them to talk about best practice and share hints and tips on scrutiny.
More importantly we have spoken to many customers and got feedback from them. This feedback then influences what recommendations we make.
This month we met the Westward board at Westward’s main office, Templar House. It was great to hear from them about what they do and how they work, and for the us, the Scrutiny Group, to do the same. Group members, Donna and Rikke, delivered a fantastic presentation. We are now planning to meet the board on a regular basis.
It was quite exciting as this was the first time we had met in person as a group! There was a lot of catching up to do.
Although we’re taking a break in July, the work isn’t stopping. We’ll be sending out a survey for customers to complete on the impact the cost-of-living crisis is having on everyone living in a Westward property. This will help us to make sure that all customers have access to support and signposting to relevant agencies.
