Westward scoops resident satisfaction award
We are delighted to announce that our Woodgate development in Liskeard has won the coveted resident satisfaction award at this year’s South West Residents’ Development Conference.
The conference and awards are a chance for residents to give their feedback on the design and layout of new homes and hear what housing associations are up to across the South West.
Chris Duggan, Development Manager at Westward said: “We are thrilled that Woodgate has been recognised by our residents. We are very proud of this development and winning this award really shows that new developments can bring high quality new housing that meets the community’s needs and delivers on good layout and design.
“It has also been very rewarding to work alongside Eliot Design and Build, 3MS, and Mitchell Architects who are just as committed as we are to bringing good design to communities in Cornwall.”
The Woodgate scheme is on the western edge of Liskeard and received the highest resident satisfaction survey results from a benchmarking survey for new residents. Residents take part in the survey once they have lived in a new development for six months to see how satisfied they are with the design and layout.
The 44 mixed home development has brought affordable living to the area for dozens of families. The development consists of 10 for shared ownership homes, 31 for rent and three for open market sale.
Open space and connections with the local community were important factors in the design with open spaces provided throughout the site. The site has spectacular views overlooking Moorswater Viaduct and there is a landscaped area with a bench and design features created using large stones found during development of the site.
The layout is also based around two access roads linked by a footpath for connectivity across the site .Woodgate is also located near the A38, has transport connections, local shops and amenities.
The South West Design Conference was held at Plymouth Community Homes offices in Plymouth and over 50 people were in attendance.
Westward Housing Group, Magna Housing, Ocean Housing, Livewest and Plymouth Community Homes residents were keen to network and discuss the way we design new homes.
