Westward completes first homes at Crantock
An exciting feature of the scheme is provision of a 10 allotments which will be under the management of the parish council.
This delightful scheme represents the first major development for some years in this attractive, coastal village in north Cornwall. It will provide a huge boost to the local economy, as well as offering affordable homes for 30 local families.
All rental properties will be let on affordable rents for local people who meet the local connections to the area criteria. In total 50 properties are being developed, with the remaining 20 for open market sale by Legacy Properties.
Westward’s Chief Executive, Barbara Shaw, said: “There hasn’t been any development on this scale in the area for many years and I am pleased that our mixed development of quality properties in the form of flats and family homes, available for both rent and shared ownership, will provide a range of options for meeting local housing need.”
The owners of the first 6 shared ownership properties have now moved in and the next phase of 12 properties will be ready in the Spring. The new rental properties will consist of 1 four-bed house, 5 two-bed houses and 4 one-bed flats, along with 2 three-bed houses available for shared ownership.
The entire development will be complete at the end of 2020 with a further 12 affordable homes for the local community.
Westward’s two shared ownership homes are already advertised on the Help to Buy website at http://helptobuyagent3.org.uk/
