Our Customer Scrutiny Group turns one!

Happy first birthday to us!

This month we are celebrating our first birthday as the Westward Customer Scrutiny Group!

We met this time last year, some of us more nervous than others. We didn’t know anyone on the group as we all live in different parts of Devon and Cornwall and because of Covid we could only meet online.

Despite this, we have gone from strength to strength. We usually meet online on a Wednesday evening, meaning that almost anyone can join in and there’s no travelling through hordes of summer visitors or down icy lanes in winter. And we have our own WhatsApp group and closed Facebook page, so we can keep in touch with each other.

There are seven of us on the group at the moment, but we very excited to announce that two more customers might be joining soon. We are always looking for new members, the more members we have the better we understand how services impact on us all.

We’ve completed our first review on grounds maintenance and all eight recommendations were approved (see more here). We are almost finished with our second review which is on repairs communication. Look out for updates on the website.

We don’t just look for what can be improved, we also look for good practice as well. We take service area, usually based on complaints or responses to IFF surveys (an independent customer research specialist) or even a suggestion from a customer and investigate how it works.

The aim is to see if we can help to improve the service for customers and staff and if we can save some money in the process even better.
