- Vacancies: 1
- Application closing date: 31 Dec 2020 17:00
Westward Housing Group is a major housing association in the south west. As a developing landlord, we build new homes across the region, working in partnership with local authorities to rent homes to those in need. Our support services are very highly regarded in the sector which is largely down to the fantastic staff we employ.
This job is to provide staffing to take up new pieces of support work which we do not have the capacity to meet or to provide cover in the event of longer term staff absences or shortages. You will join a bank of people able to pick up work, often at short notice. No hours can be guaranteed. The work will take place at our Exeter young people’s support service providing the delivery of high quality support services.
You will work alongside a team of support staff and external agencies to provide a holistic, outcomes focused service that recognises the individual journey of the people we work with. There is good induction, support and training available for you to develop in the role. It is essential that you are able to work well as part of a team, as well as have the ability to work on your own initiative. Problem solving and the ability to think on your feet are key skills to assist in effective support delivery.
By providing quality one to one support you will encourage, inspire, motivate and assist people to meet the outcomes and goals as set out in their support plan.
You will support clients around issues such as maintaining their well-being, managing housing issues, maximizing their income, finding meaningful occupation and accessing other services they may need. You will have experience of working with people, either in a paid or voluntary capacity and an understanding of the range of difficulties facing people and also how to enable people reach their potential.
